A leading packaging manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join their Commercial team.
This role has a strong interface with Manufacturing and Supply Chain and focuses on product costing, process optimisation, ERP data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will translate operational and system data into accurate cost models and support strategic commercial decision-making within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing, supply chain or industrial engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Manufacturing processes (labour, machine utilisation, yields, scrap, rework, capacity)
    • Supply chain operations and raw material flow
    • Cost modelling and variance analysis (standard vs actual costing)
    • ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, inventory and costing structures)
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power BI advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Commercially aware with strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Comfortable working across shop floor operations, suppliers and senior management
  • Knowledge of GMP and Health & Safety standards within a manufacturing environment
  • Passion for packaging innovation and sustainable manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse manufacturing processes to identify efficiency and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement and process mapping
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end product cost models
  • Support pricing strategies, tenders and commercial negotiations
  • Analyse cost variances and provide actionable insights
  • Drive ERP data accuracy, governance and system integrity (BOMs, routings, costing)
  • Build and maintain cost, performance and operational dashboards
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering tools to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, IT and Commercial teams
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making through accurate operational and financial analysis
