Industrial Engineer
Job Description
The purpose of the position is to provide component manufacturing and product assembly support topreviously industrialised products, as well as optimally converting product baselines (PBL)generated by Design Engineering into manufacturing baselines (MBL) on new productdevelopment projects, while applying DFx principals to minimize unit cost, improve product qualityand reduce time to market.
- Industrialisation of new products and product modifications.
- Active participation in the product design phase to influence manufacturability, assimilability and
cost. - Optimally convert the Product Baseline (PBL) into the Manufacturing Baseline (MBL).
- Use the Pre-Production phase to evaluate and update the Manufacturing Baseline (MBL).
- Ensuring all aspects of Impact Engineering Change Proposals are processed according to: Cost, Phase-out, Implementation and Stock.
- Technical support on assembly processes and component manufacturing processes.
- Initiation and execution of Failure Diagnostics and Corrective Actions.
- Compiling and submission of technical reports and progress reports and various administrationfunctions in accordance with processes and procedures.
- B-Eng./B-Tech. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 5 years' experience in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the new product development.
- Exposure to tool and die making, an advantage.
- Exposure to electronics, an advantage.
