Job Description

Main Purpose of Role

The purpose of this role is to provide integrated Human Resources, Legal, and Administrative support to ensure the organisation operates efficiently, remains legally compliant, and maintains accurate records and reporting. The role supports the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and workplace skills planning), assists with labour law compliance and legal documentation, and provides administrative coordination across HR, Legal, and Executive assistance functions.

Key Responsibilities Human Resources Support
  • Assist in recruitment processes including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
  • Support onboarding activities for new employees, including preparing documentation, orientation schedules, and welcome packs
  • Maintain and update employee records, HR databases, and confidential files.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and internal events.
  • Assist with HR reporting and metrics, such as attendance, leave management, and staff turnover data.
  • Assist with Workplace skills planning and reporting to the relevant SETA.
  • Assist with Department of labour EE reporting and Basic Conditions of Employment Act Inspections.
  • Support performance management processes, including preparing evaluation documents and tracking deadlines.
Legal & Compliance Support
  • Conduct basic research on South African labour laws, employment contracts, and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts, agreements, and HR policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Support the Legal team with documentation for labor disputes, employee grievances, or regulatory filings.
  • Help maintain a legal document repository, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Assist with compliance audits and risk assessment processes under supervision.
Administrative Support
  • Provide general administrative assistance, including preparing reports, drafting correspondence, and organizing meetings.
  • Assist in developing templates, standard operating procedures, and HR/Legal communication materials.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Drafting reports and Communique. (Both HR & Legal)
  • Assisting with drafting funding Applications or related communication.
  • Provide record keeping.
  • Research and presentations on HR & Legal.
  • Assist the CEO with Board preparations (Board Packs, notes, minutes etc.)
Minimum Requirements (Intern Level)
  • Recently completed Degree in Human Resources, Labour Law, Industrial Psychology or related field
  • Must be below the age of 35
  • Basic understanding of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Word, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
