Department: Environmental Services

Schedule: Full-Time / Part-Time Positions Available

Reports To: Environmental Services Manager

Location: Full Time, George Regional Hospital; Part Time, Community Surgical Center

Position Summary:
Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff throughout the facility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring infection control standards are met and that all areas of the hospital reflect the highest level of cleanliness and care.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing as needed
  • Collect and dispose of trash and linen according to hospital procedures
  • Restock supplies in designated areas
  • Follow all safety and infection control policies and procedures
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptlyProvide friendly, courteous service to patients and staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
