Higher Level Teaching Assistant - High Bank Junior, Infant & Nursery School

At High Bank JIN, we pride ourselves on being a nurturing and inclusive primary school, committed to helping every child reach their full potential. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and confident HLTA to join our dedicated team and support our school.

• Take responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision including working within professional standards.
• Plan, prepare and deliver a range of purposeful learning activities for individual, small groups or whole classes. (Planning time will be provided).
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of pupils' progress and achievements using a range of assessments as agreed.
• Apply your understanding and knowledge in the use of a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as a whole and also individual behavioural needs.
• Lead and motivate other support staff, providing guidance and direction to ensure the teaching and learning objectives are embedded (Due to the small size of our school, there will be no requirement to assist in the co-ordination of a team of teaching assistants as per the job description).
• Ensure a positive learning environment is maintained in line with school policies.
• On the occasions where you are not needed to provide cover, provide additional support to teachers in classrooms or work with pupils in a smaller group or one to one basis.

• Have experience working with children, and L3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent skills / experience.
• Possesses strong classroom management skills.
• Is confident, flexible, and able to think on their feet.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
