Job Description

A Leading Infrastructure Contractor is looking for a Head of Procurement to run a major project procurement and supply chain strategy, you will:

  • Develop and deliver the procurement and supply chain strategy for a major regional infrastructure project.
  • Lead and further recruit a high-performing team who will deliver the procurement and supply chain strategy for the project.
  • Set the procurement strategy for major subcontract packages, while ensuring the team efficiently run the end to end subcontract procurement process.
  • Work as part of the project Senior Leadership Team, delivering their procurement and supply chain requirements.
  • Work collaboratively across the supply chain, partnering with a high profile client and market leading suppliers and subcontractors across the key trades to drive the strategy and best practice.
  • Deliver significant and challenging client requirements across supply chain sustainability, social value, innovation and digital.

You will be working for a top 10 global main contractor, who are financially stable and have a multibillion pound order book.

Further Details

Responsible for subcontract and material procurement, and supply chain management activities.

Strong Supplier Relationship Management will be required to build relationships across subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturing and distributors.

Candidate Requirements

10+ years procurement / supply chain experience from a main contractor, with at least 3+ years' work at Head of / Senior Manager / Lead level.

Many years delivering major projects across any infrastructure sector (highways, rail, utilities, nuclear, renewables), also open to candidates with major building project experience.

3+ years leading medium - large sized project procurement teams.

Many years delivering the requirements of director level internal stakeholders, must have some client facing experience.

Must have delivered advanced / best practice supply chain management initiatives, such as Supplier Relationship Management, sustainability, social value, transformation, digital rollout.
