Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experiencedand commercially astute Head of Private Utilities to lead and grow our privateutilities division. This is a senior leadership role for an engineeringprofessional with a proven track record in managing complex utility infrastructureprojects across electricity, water, or related sectors. You will be responsiblefor the full operational and commercial performance of the division, drivingbusiness growth, and ensuring the highest standards of technical delivery andclient service.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic development and operationalmanagement of the Private Utilities division, setting clear goals aligned tocompany growth targets.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery acrossprivate utility infrastructure projects, including electrical reticulation,water supply, and related services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships withclients, developers, municipalities, and key stakeholders in the privateutilities sector.
- Drive business development efforts, includingtendering, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations to secure new work.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team ofengineers, project managers, and technical staff, fostering a high-performanceculture.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant SouthAfrican legislation, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, cost control, andfinancial reporting to ensure divisional profitability and sustainability.
- Collaborate with the Executive team on resourceplanning, capacity management, and divisional strategy.
- Champion health, safety, and environmentalcompliance across all projects and operations.
- Represent the company at industry forums,conferences, and client engagements.
- Bachelor's degree or any other relatedqualification
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in theengineering services or utilities sector, with at least 5 years in a seniormanagement or leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scaleprivate utility infrastructure projects (electricity and/or water).
- Strong knowledge of South African utilityregulations.
- Proven track record in business development,tendering, and contract management.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travelas required.
- Experience working with private developers,estates, industrial parks, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managingdivisional P&Ls and budgets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, andstakeholder management skills.
- Track record of team development and buildinghigh-performing technical teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools andengineering software platforms.
