Head of Finance - (iGaming & Sports Betting)

A high-growth iGaming and Sports Betting operator is building a next-generation finance function in Cape Town and is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead financial strategy, governance, and performance across a multi-jurisdictional operation.

This is a pivotal executive leadership role for a commercially sharp finance professional who understands fast-scaling digital businesses, regulated environments, and the pace of the online betting industry. You will act as the strategic financial partner to the executive team, ensuring the organisation is positioned for sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory excellence.

The Opportunity

As Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of the finance function, leading financial planning, reporting, compliance, treasury, and commercial performance analysis. You will play a central role in shaping business strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring robust financial controls across sportsbook, casino, and supporting operational divisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall financial strategy, planning, and execution aligned to company growth objectives

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modelling across multiple markets

Deliver accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to executive leadership

Drive commercial performance analysis, margin optimisation, and cost-efficiency initiatives

Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and audit readiness within a regulated environment

Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and financial risk management

Partner with product, marketing, operations, and commercial teams to support data-driven decision-making

Oversee tax, statutory, and regulatory financial compliance across jurisdictions

Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance team as the organisation expands

Support investment planning, business cases, and strategic growth initiatives including new market entry

Requirements

Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (Head of Finance / Finance Director / Senior Finance Manager)

Strong commercial finance experience within iGaming, Sports Betting, FinTech, or high-growth digital businesses

Deep expertise in financial planning & analysis, reporting, and financial control frameworks

Experience operating in regulated or multi-jurisdictional environments

Strong leadership capability with experience building and managing finance teams

Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic analysis skills

Professional finance qualification (CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at executive level
