The lodge is seeking a reliable and practical Handyman responsible for assisting with general maintenance and repairs across the property. The role involves a variety of tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of guest areas, staff accommodation, and lodge facilities. The Handyman will support the maintenance team to ensure that the lodge remains safe, functional, and well maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work across the lodge property.
  • Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building repairs.
  • Carry out painting, varnishing, and basic construction tasks when required.
  • Repair doors, windows, locks, furniture, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Assist with maintenance of guest rooms, staff housing, kitchens, and common areas.
  • Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, fences, and general infrastructure.
  • Support electricians, plumbers, and other maintenance staff with larger maintenance projects.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance areas are kept clean and organised.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to ensure facilities remain in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or property maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and building maintenance.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work with tools and equipment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver's licence preferred.
  • Willingness to live and work in a remote lodge environment if required.
  • Practical maintenance skills.
  • Good work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.

The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The position may require flexibility to assist with urgent maintenance issues to ensure the smooth operation of the lodge and the comfort of guests.
