An established hospitality property set within the scenic mountains and forests of Magoebaskloof is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the overall operations of the hotel. This role requires a hands on hospitality professional with strong leadership ability, a passion for guest experience, and the capacity to oversee all operational departments while driving financial performance and team development.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Food & Beverage, and Maintenance.
- Deliver and maintain exceptional guest experiences, ensuring high service standards are consistently met.
- Lead, mentor, and manage department heads and staff to maintain a motivated and high-performing team.
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and cost controls to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor occupancy, rates, and operational performance while implementing strategies to drive growth.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with ownership and senior management to implement business strategies and improvements.
- Oversee property maintenance and ensure the hotel facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and the local tourism network.
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Hospitality Manager within a hotel, lodge, or resort environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent financial and operational management ability.
- Strong guest relations and service delivery focus.
- Ability to manage multiple departments and drive operational excellence.
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
- Experience within a hotel or boutique hospitality property will be advantageous.
