Now, Sulzer looking for a Foundry Engineer who wants to work at the heart of this global supply chain. The Role You'll be the technical specialist working with our casting suppliers - particularly our long standing partners in South Africa, with occasional international travel.Reporting into Procurement, with a dotted line into Quality, you'll live where process, metallurgy, and supplier performance intersect. If you know castings, love solving real manufacturing problems, and enjoy working directly with foundries, this is where you'll shine. What You'll Be Doing Owning technical oversight of sand and investment casting suppliers. Visiting foundries in South Africa (and beyond) to assess, challenge, and improve casting performance. Driving quality improvements, defect investigations, and process optimisation. Conducting audits, capability reviews, and production readiness checks. Reviewing drawings, tooling, and casting feasibility early in the sourcing cycle. Collaborating cross functionally to strengthen supplier capability and reduce risk. What You Bring Real foundry experience, you understand casting from furnace to finish. Strong understanding of casting defects, metallurgy, and process controls. Confidence working with suppliers, challenging processes, and leading improvements. Curious, proactive mindset - someone who spots what others miss. Machining knowledge is desirable but not essential Willingness to travel internationally (mainly South Africa).
