Job Description

Our client in the Manufacturing Sector is currently looking to employ an experienced Fitter to their team in Port Elizabeth.

Minimum 8 years' experience in an industrial environment secures.

Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 (minimum).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in an industrial environment.
  • Must have a sound knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • A good understanding of quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be available to work swing shifts.
  • Availability every Sunday is mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Daily planned and preventative maintenance routines.
  • Communication with supervisors/production to arrange preventative maintenance time.
  • Arranging for parts to be available timeously to carry out preventative maintenance routines.
  • Diagnose root cause of equipment failure.
  • Plan action to remove cause of failure.
  • Report on action taken and record downtime.
  • Availability to assist with production requests.
  • Communicate with production on planning changes to production runs timeously.
  • Periodically inspect products manufactured against quality requirements.
  • Inspect statistical process charts to evaluate equipment capability and correct where necessary.
  • Plot engineering related statistical process charts and use of barometer of equipment performance.
  • Daily Housekeeping.
