Overview

A rewarding opportunity is available for a qualified Fitter with proven experience in underground mining machinery to join our client's dynamic project team. Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, and maintain underground mining machinery, including trackless mobile machines (TMMs), loaders, and drilling equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in diesel-powered mining equipment, using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Strip, clean, inspect, and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, torque converters, axles, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform quality control checks and functional testing on all repaired or newly assembled equipment before deployment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report on parts usage, repairs, and equipment condition.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and participate in ongoing training related to underground mining machinery.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Trade-tested Fitter or Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal certified).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working with underground mining equipment (e.g., LHDs, drill rigs, utility vehicles).
  • Proven experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with trackless mobile machinery (TMM) and OEM standards.
