A well-established manufacturing operation in the Eastern Cape is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter and Turner to join its Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining mechanical equipment and ensuring optimal plant performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and planned maintenance as per job cards and instructions
  • Attend to breakdowns and carry out repairs on mechanical equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment reliability and availability
  • Participate in maintenance planning, shutdowns, and execution of plant work
  • Assist with equipment upgrades and refurbishment to maintain performance standards
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements at all times
  • Provide shift relief, overtime, and standby support when required
Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Trade Tested Fitter and Turner
  • Minimum N3 in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years' post-trade test experience in a similar role
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong fitting and turning skills
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic welding ability
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
