Job Description
As a Financial Manager you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with experienced professionals across the intricacies of financial management, management accounting, operational finance, and the different systems involved in the process. You'll work with ambitious product-based businesses dealing with inventory, cost of goods, and operational complexity. The kind of finance work that demands both technical skill and commercial awareness.

This is not a conventional accounting role, and we are not looking for a conventional accountant. We are looking for someone who is execution-heavy, detail-driven, process-minded, and comfortable using modern tools (including AI) to work faster, smarter, and with higher leverage. You will be expected to build repeatable workflows, continuously improve how financial work is produced and managed, and use AI to accelerate tasks like data processing, reporting, and analysis without lowering quality.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Finance Expertise: Gain a deep understanding of operational finance principles, systems, and processes, from data entry to financial reporting.
Client Whisperer: Collaborate with our seasoned pros to provide financial consulting services to our diverse client base, assisting them in achieving their financial objectives.
Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making for our clients.
Data Management: Be responsible for accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, maintaining financial databases, and ensuring data integrity.
Rockstar Reporting: Help in crafting financial dashboards, financial statements, performance reports, and variance analysis.
Team Glue: Help coordinate and run the internal admin of the team you work with. Tracking workstreams, deadlines, and deliverables. Keeping the right hand-offs happening between people and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. You'll be a connective force in how the team operates, not just a contributor to it.
AI-First Workflows & Systems: Use AI tools to accelerate drafting, data processing, reconciliation, and reporting. Build repeatable workflows that scale output without lowering quality. Continuously improve how financial work is produced, reviewed, and delivered.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial processes and reporting systems, with a bias toward automation, modern tooling, and smarter ways of working.
Learning Lover: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new systems, AI developments, accounting regulations, and best practices to maintain a high level of expertise.
Collaborative Environment: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including C-Suite executives, Start-up Founders and entrepreneurs, Auditors, and Legal advisors, to provide holistic financial solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:- Hands-on experience with e-commerce, distribution, or any product/inventory-driven business is a strong advantage and close to a non-negotiable for this role. We work deep in this space. Stock, cost of goods sold, fulfillment, and multi-channel complexity are part of the daily workflow, and we need someone who already understands the rhythm of it or has been close enough to ramp up fast.
- A degree in Accounting, Management Accounting, or Finance.
- 5 years post-articles working experience
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and operational finance, however you got there.
- CIMA accredited or working toward it is a plus, not a requirement.
- Organizational and leadership instincts or a real will to develop them. Keeping a team's workstreams moving, managing your own workload tightly, and stepping up to coordinate others when needed all matter here. You don't need to arrive a fully-formed manager, but you do need to want to grow into someone people can rely on to drive things forward.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Project Management Skills: We need finishers!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
- Very comfortable in computer-first environments, with a natural interest in technology, tools, and systems.
- Strong with modern tools and AI, and excited about using them to work faster and with more leverage. Exposure to coding, automation, or technical problem-solving is a strong plus, but not a requirement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
