An established engineering company is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Financial Manager to take full ownership of their finance department. This is a pivotal role for a qualified CA(SA) with a hands-on approach to managing the entire accounting function while providing leadership to a dedicated team.

The successful candidate will ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting and regulatory compliance, reporting directly to the executive leadership. While this is an in-office position, the client offers micro flexibility to support a healthy work life balance.

• Lead and manage the full finance function, including the direct supervision and professional development of the finance team.
• Oversee the month end closing process and ensure accurate reporting up to the balance sheet level.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts and provide financial insights to support executive decision making.
• Ensure full compliance with South African tax legislation, including the management of SARS e filing for VAT, PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
• Manage company cash flow, including detailed forecasting and short to medium term financial projections.
• Oversee the debtors and creditors functions, ensuring effective reconciliations and cash collections.
• Produce annual financial statements and coordinate the year end audit process.
• Manage capital expenditure in alignment with approved budgets and strategic goals.
• Maintain and optimise internal controls, financial governance, and audit readiness.

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of post article experience in a finance leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing and developing a finance team.
• Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and modern cloud based accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
