Financial Controller
Job Description
This role is ideal for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys building disciplined reporting routines, tightening controls, and ensuring the numbers are right - first time - in a fast-paced, regulated, high-transaction business.
The OpportunityAs Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the integrity of the books and core finance processes: month-end close, reconciliations, statutory reporting support, and audit readiness. You will work closely with the Head of Finance (or Finance Director) and wider stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, strong governance, and clean, reliable financial data that supports decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn month-end close processes, ensuring accurate cut-offs, journals, and timely completion
Maintain balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliations and control reviews
Produce management accounts and reporting packs with clear variance commentary and insights
Manage general ledger governance, chart of accounts hygiene, and intercompany processes
Support statutory reporting, tax submissions, and compliance requirements across entities
Coordinate audit deliverables and ensure ongoing audit readiness of schedules and controls
Oversee AP/AR processes (where applicable), improving efficiency and payment controls
Improve finance processes through automation, better documentation, and tighter controls
Partner with operational teams to resolve data issues, improve accuracy, and reduce rework
Support budgeting/forecasting cycles with high-quality actuals, accruals, and analysis
RequirementsProven experience as a Financial Controller or in a strong finance operations / financial reporting role
Solid technical accounting foundation (IFRS exposure beneficial) with strong reconciliation discipline
Experience in high-volume transactional environments (iGaming, fintech, eCommerce, payments) advantageous
Comfortable working across multiple entities and intercompany structures
Professional accounting qualification advantageous (CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
Strong Excel capability and experience with ERPs/accounting systems; automation mindset preferred
Detail-focused, process-driven, and confident working to deadlines
