Description

A vacancy exists for a Finance Intern, reporting to the Financial Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of financial processing, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as providing accurate financial data to managers, to guide them in making sound business decisions.

Critical Outputs
  • Assist with accurate data entry and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • Maintain complete records of all financial transactions of an undertaking according to general bookkeeping principles, with guidance from the finance team.
  • Apply knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices to identify and solve problems that arise.
  • Verify accuracy of documents and records relating to payments, receipts and other financial transactions
  • Create and/or maintain filing systems for account functions
  • Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and operations
  • Assist with the preparation monthly results, budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents.
  • Assist finance team compile VAT returns and all other statutory returns.
  • Work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the Head Office team and/or Facilities.
  • Assist finance team prepare ad-hoc financial reports as requested.
  • Assist team to prepare management accounts
Control and governance
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Assist with coordination of audits and actively participate during audits.
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Finance
  • Must be a recent graduate (qualified in the last 2 years)
