Farm / Lodge Manager - Luxury Safari Lodge, Zululand

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a hands on and self motivated Farm/Lodge Manager for a luxury safari lodge in Zululand, KZN. This live in role is perfect for a practical, problem solving professional who thrives in a remote environment and enjoys keeping everything running smoothly-from buildings to vehicles to utilities.

  • Salary: R12,000 - R13,000 per month (live in, depending on experience)

The Role:

The Farm/Lodge Manager will oversee day to day operations and infrastructure, ensuring the lodge and farm run efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and maintaining lodge buildings, staff housing, guest areas, roads, fences, and utilities
  • Performing and supervising repairs, maintenance, and renovations (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, construction)
  • Overseeing water systems, generators, pumps, and solar systems
  • Operating and maintaining vehicles and machinery (tractors, trucks, utility/game drive vehicles)
  • Supervising contractors and managing stock and maintenance supplies
  • Ensuring health, safety, and operational standards are met
  • Liaising with lodge management on daily operations
Who they're looking for:
  • Proven experience in farm, lodge, or maintenance management
  • Strong hands on skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Experience with building, renovation, or construction work
  • Ability to drive and operate large vehicles; Code 10/14 licence advantageous
  • Practical, independent problem solver able to thrive in a remote bush setting
  • Good people management and communication skills
Preferred but not essential:
  • Experience in a safari lodge or game reserve environment
  • Health & safety or first aid certification
