Job Description

The Faircape Group owns and manages six luxury lifestyle villages with state-of-the-art and technologically advanced Healthcare Centres at each village. We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Onrus Manor to assist in keeping the buildings and common areas of the Village in good repair. If you would like to work for a dynamic and reputable retirement group then this is the job for you. The successful applicant will be required to reside close to the Hermanus (Onrus) area.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Complete all maintenance as per the rosters and schedules that govern the maintenance of the Village
  • Keep all roofs, gutters and exteriors in good repair
  • Respond to Residents' requests as co-ordinated by the Maintenance Manager
  • Do all small plumbing, electrical, painting and repair jobs required within the Village
  • Ensure that plants and tools are well looked after
  • Abide by all health and safety rules
  • Property and equipment maintenance
  • Prioritise the safety of residents and fellow employees
  • Relevant maintenance experience, basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical
Skills and Attributes:
  • Neat presentation
  • Patience and the ability to work with the elderly
Specific Requirements:
  • Clear health record
  • Clear criminal record
  • Clear credit record
  • Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing work
