Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to implement and coordinate learning and teaching activities in the faculty at the Mowbray and Wellington Campus.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A relevant teaching qualification or higher education teaching qualification.
- At least four (4) years' relevant experience at tertiary level.
- A proven record of managing projects and programmes.
- A research record in the field of learning and teaching.
- Knowledge, skills and experience of the use of technology in learning and teaching.
- Experience in successfully implementing a hybrid mode of learning and teaching.
- Experience in management and administration in the Faculty.
- Proficiency in English and at least one other regional language.
- Experience with managing a budget.
Please note: In exceptional circumstances, applicants with a Master's degree meeting the other minimum requirements other than a Doctoral degree will be considered under the following conditions:
- Registration for a relevant Doctoral degree and have made significant progress (i.e. in the final write up stage and/or have submitted their final draft) towards the completion of the qualification
- Candidates must provide evidence of a progress report from their supervisor authenticating the progress to date and the expected date of completion.

- Preference will be given to applicants with a relevant Doctoral degree.
- Only current employees within the Faculty of Education will be considered for this appointment.
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
- Coordinate the learning and teaching activities within the faculty.
- Implement a learning and teaching strategy for the faculty.
- Lecture in relevant subjects (50% workload) across the faculty.
- Manage the appointment of tutors and TAs in the faculty.
- Investigate current educational practices and promote scholarships of learning and teaching in the faculty.
- Assist in designing and delivering a development programme for the faculty on aspects related to the first-year experience.
- Responsible for the faculty's PQM and coordination of new programme proposals and applications.
- Responsible for quality assurance in learning and teaching.
- Responsible for faculty review reports.Responsible for faculty qualifications reviews.
- Staff development workshops on all aspects of learning and teaching.
- Faculty representative in learning and teaching committees in the university.
- Communicate and coordinate learning and teaching policies, projects and procedures in the faculty.
- Demonstration of knowledge of all relevant aspects of teaching and learning policies and strategies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning, organizational, management and coordination abilities
- Facilitation and mentoring skills
- Sound teaching skills
- Demonstrable ability to work in a team
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Applied knowledge of MS Office Suite
