Minimum Requirements
  • Matric certificate or NC(V) Level 4 certificate with a National Diploma/Degree in Management Assistant / Office Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 2 years' experience at a TVET College or in an educational institution.
  • Knowledge of the White Paper on PSET, the Public TVET sector, regulatory and legislative framework, TVETMIS, ITS, TVET National Examination Policies, Government Gazette: Conduct of Examination, DHET Punctuality Policy, and examination requirements for Exam Centres.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation regulating examinations and assessments.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, internet).
  • Good leadership and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently or within a team, and for longer hours.
  • Effective organisational, administrative, time management, communication (verbal & written), and planning skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
Duties
  • Update and verify final examination marks and captured marks on the ITS System; issue term mark sheets.
  • Issue exam permits and prepare examination venues.
  • Compile daily examination reports and submit to the Curriculum Implementation.
  • Submit examination irregularities to the DHET National and Examination Irregularity Committee.
  • Manage the receiving, collating, and dispatching of full time and part time scripts to national examination marking centres; act as Distribution Point manager during examination periods.
  • Oversee implementation of DHET/College Management plans regarding examinations.
  • Act as liaison between the college and DHET on all examination related matters.
  • Implement college examination related policies.
  • Verify and declare students qualifying for graduation to the graduation committee; issue statements of results, examination permits, certificates and diploma applications.
  • Ensure timely completion of preliminary schedule amendments.
  • Assist with submission of outstanding ICASS/POE's and maintain electronic records.
  • Execute examination duties according to the national Examination Policy for National Certificate Vocational (NCV) and Report 191 (NATED).
  • Apply for examination concessions to the DHET.
  • Provide examination services; facilitate invigilation training and pre examination meetings for students, markers and data capturers.
  • Establish the Irregularity Committee and administer the examination unit.
  • Manage all human, financial and other resources within the unit.
  • Maintain record management and reporting for every examination cycle.
  • Execute any other duties assigned.
