Introduction

This position will be based at the Phola Plant close to Ogies in Mpumalanga.

Description

The purpose of this position is to perform basic repair and maintenance activities under instruction from an artisan or engineering supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements
  • Confirm the availability of consumables with the appropriate supervisor (lubes, spares)
  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance work on equipment to comply with product technical specifications e.g. replace idlers, change light fittings, replace screens, greasing, basic rigging, cutting
  • Carrying out routine external inspections on equipment and machinery within his section and reports any defects according to procedure
  • Lifts, holds, positions and supports parts and materials being worked on, manually or with appropriate tools as required
  • Performs general housekeeping duties
Qualification Requirement
  • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate) where applicable.
  • National Certificate in Engineering Level 2 in one of the following areas:
    • Electrical Engineering L2
Experience and SkillsRequirements
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in an engineering maintenance environment
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Time management skills
  • Mobile equipment training (Cherry Picker and Manitou) will be an advantage.
