Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a software engineering team through coaching, feedback, 1:1s, goal setting, and career development.
  • Drive high technical standards via best practices, code reviews, architectural guidance, and ensuring code quality, reliability, and security
  • Foster an inclusive, transparent engineering culture based on trust and collaboration.
  • Partner with recruiting to hire exceptional talent and manage resourcing, timelines, and trade-offs across projects.
  • Own the delivery of technical initiatives, overseeing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and deployment timelines.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Operations stakeholders to define roadmaps, align technical priorities with business goals, and advocate for engineering input.
  • Implement and improve engineering processes (CI/CD, testing, monitoring, etc.) for efficiency, quality, and drive post-mortems for continuous improvement.
  • Review designs, contribute to architectural decisions (scalability/maintainability), balance speed with technical debt, and communicate progress and risks to leadership.
What our client is looking for:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be ideal.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in management or technical leadership.
  • Strong technical background in mobile app development (native or cross-platform).
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
  • Deep understanding of application architecture, system design, and performance optimization.
  • Track record integrating mobile apps with backend systems, third-party services, and internal APIs.
  • Experience designing and managing RESTful services and mobile-friendly APIs.
  • Experience with outsourced/distributed teams, scaling teams/systems, and Agile/Scrum. Prior experience managing remote/hybrid teams is also required.
  • Experience in Kotlin Multiplatform and excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
