Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to develop and deliver detailed engineering solutions. This role involves creating design calculations, performing circuit simulations, compiling bills of materials, preparing technical instructions, and specifying components. You will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical and electronic design process, including concept development, design, simulation, assembly, coding, integration, and testing of electronic assemblies, systems, or embedded software.

  • Perform electrical simulations and analyses to validate designs.
  • Conduct testing of prototypes and final products to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform failure analysis investigations for quality improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Create procedures for analysing different areas of designs, thereby establishing standard methods for applying solutions.
  • Acquire and apply an understanding of the relevant product standards to which CBI products are tested.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments and role players.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, Certification, Tool Design, Procurement, Suppliers, Sales, Export) to support innovation, design, and manufacturing.
  • Work closely with the Lead Design Engineer and Project Manager to ensure overall project success.
  • Take ownership of projects and ensure appropriate project reporting to management.
  • Apply and mentor junior roles on principles of development impact.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and operational manuals.
  • Ensure all designs and modifications are documented accurately for future reference and compliance purposes.
  • Implement best practices and apply safety standards to designs.
  • Provide ad hoc technical support to all role players.
  • Adhere to the OHS Act and CBI safety guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and safety codes relevant to electrical engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical design principles and hands on experience with relevant design software.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to diagnose complex electronic issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in design, testing, and documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Strong capability to troubleshoot faults and optimise performance.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage tasks, timelines, and resources effectively in engineering projects.
  • Collaboration: Team player with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
