Job Description

Job Purpose

To perform maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on electrical machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality, reliability, and compliance with HSE and quality standards. Special emphasis is placed on high-voltage systems, generators, transformers, and protection systems.

Key Prioritized Experience Areas

Candidates must have hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Electrical generators and excitation systems
  • High voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) systems
  • Semi-overhauling of high voltage motors
  • Electrical transformers
  • Electrical protection systems

  • Internal:Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Engineers, Operations Team External:N/A
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Minimum Qualifications:Technical Certificate or Associate Diploma in Electrical Maintenance
  • Minimum Experience:3-5 years in electrical maintenance within a plant or industrial environment, with proven experience in the prioritized areas listed above
  • Skills:
  • Strong practical knowledge of HV/MV systems, generators, transformers, and protection systems
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for electrical faults
  • Awareness of HSE and quality standards
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration
  • ISO awareness or working knowledge (preferred)
Key Accountabilities Electrical Maintenance
  • Execute daily and preventive electrical maintenance tasks per schedule and procedures
  • Monitor equipment condition and report anomalies to the Electrical Supervisor
  • Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Diagnose and repair faults in circuits, wiring, motors, transformers, relays, and control devices
  • Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment as per specifications and maintain detailed records
Inventory Management
  • Monitor and report spare parts stock levels to support maintenance activities
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs detailing work performed, issues found, and equipment condition
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence
  • Comply with all organizational policies, maintenance procedures, and standards
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
  • Adhere to HSE protocols to ensure a safe working environment and regulatory compliance
