Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Electrical Lead to provide hands on electrical expertise while leading a multidisciplinary team of electricians and equipment technicians. The role is responsible for managing complex electrical faults, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards, and providing technical guidance on challenging electrical issues. Acting as the primary escalation point, the Electrical Lead will ensure the safe installation, maintenance, and optimal uptime of electrical and kitchen equipment, while supporting efficient and reliable operational performance
What You'll Be doing:- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems across multiple QSR restaurant facilities, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
- Ensure all electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities comply with SANS regulations, internal company standards, and all applicable statutory and safety requirements.
- Conduct planned and reactive electrical safety inspections and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) in accordance with legal requirements.
- Proactively identify electrical hazards across sites, recommend corrective and preventative measures, and ensure safe working conditions for staff, contractors, and customers.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex, high-risk, or business-critical electrical faults that may impact restaurant operations.
- Collaborate with facilities, operations, and finance teams to assist internal and external auditors during utility, electrical, and compliance audits across multiple locations.
- Support consistent electrical standards across the estate by contributing technical input to maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and supervise electrical installations for new kitchen equipment, facility upgrades, and power distribution systems.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with manufacturer specifications, statutory regulations, and applicable safety standards.
- Manage commissioning, testing, and formal sign-off of electrical systems and equipment.
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12 equivalent).
- Valid Driver's License
- Registered Electrician with a valid Wireman's License, authorised to issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs).
- Completed Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal or equivalent).
- Electrical qualification at N4 or N5 level (advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified electrician in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in issuing CoCs and performing electrical compliance inspections.
- Strong working knowledge of SANS electrical regulations, statutory requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Strong leadership and supervisory capability, with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop technical teams.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.

- Professional conduct with a strong customer-service mindset and stakeholder awareness.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
