Job Description

Overview

Job Purpose: To ensure safe and timely transportation of security personnel to and from designated locations, supporting the operational effectiveness of our security team. The driver plays a crucial role in maintaining the security company's operational efficiency by reliably transporting security officers to their assigned posts and back, ensuring they arrive punctually and in optimal condition to perform their duties. By upholding high standards of safety and professionalism during transit, the driver contributes directly to the overall security and smooth functioning of operations, thereby reinforcing our commitment to client satisfaction and safety excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License with PDP
  • 5 year driving experience
  • Grade 12 but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • No criminal record
  • Candidate must be prepared to be evaluated on driving abilities
  • Members to reside in the areas of Strand, Somerset West, Eersteriver, Stellenbosch, Kuilsriver
  • Members to be physically fit
Responsibilities
  1. Safe Transportation: Ensure the safe and timely transportation of security officers to and from work locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular checks on assigned vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate personnel. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of assigned vehicle, including oil and water levels, tire pressure, spare tire, radio functionality, and overall vehicle condition. Report any defects, damage, or collisions promptly to control, the Inspector, and Fleet within 24 hours.
  3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to vehicle use and maintenance. Keep the LOG BOOK updated daily and maintain formal and professional radio communication at all times. Adhere to duty schedules for day and night shifts, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs of security officers. Assist in covering additional driving duties as needed, especially during short-staffed periods.
  4. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations on the road, including accidents or breakdowns, by following established protocols and procedures.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatchers, security officers, and other relevant personnel to coordinate schedules and address any issues or concern.
  6. Professionalism: Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, including maintaining a neat appearance and demonstrating courteous behaviour towards passengers and other road users.
