Draftsperson / CAD Operator - Civil Infrastructure - Johannesburg (Ref JHB0106)

We are seeking a skilled Draftsperson / CAD Operator with over 5 years' experience to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on roads and municipal infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and high-quality engineering drawings and assisting engineers throughout various project phases, from concept design to construction documentation. You will form part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to efficient, compliant, and practical design outputs aligned with South African standards.

Drafting & Design Support

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts for roads, stormwater, and related civil infrastructure.
• Assist with geometric road design drawings, including alignments, cross-sections, and intersections.
• Draft stormwater systems such as pipelines, culverts, manholes, channels, and associated structures.
• Produce road signage and road marking drawings in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. SARTSM).
• Produce municipal infrastructure drawings, sewer, water etc.
• Translate engineering concepts and mark-ups into accurate, clear construction drawings.

Quality & Documentation

• Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards and Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
• Maintain drawing registers, file structures, and document control procedures.
• Perform checks on drawings prior to submission.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project teams to meet project deadlines.
• Assist in maintaining CAD standards and best practices within the team.

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant draughting qualification.
• Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Certificate

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in civil infrastructure drafting.
• Experience in roads and municipal infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Good understanding of civil engineering drawings and detailing.
• Familiarity with South African design standards (SANRAL, SANS, TMH, etc.) is essential
• Ability to interpret engineering designs and produce accurate drawings.
