DIVISIONAL HR EXECUTIVE - Travel and Tourism sector

Location: Bryanston, Johannesburg

About the Opportunity

Innovation Advance Recruitment is partnering with a leading organisation in the travel and tourism sector to appoint an accomplished Divisional HR Executive. This is a rare opportunity to shape the people agenda within one of the most dynamic, fast moving industries - one that blends global reach, diverse teams, and a uniquely human experience.

Our client operates across multiple brands and regions, requiring a strategic HR leader who can navigate complexity, drive cohesion, and elevate organisational capability across a multi geography environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Execute the Group HR Strategy across all business units and operational sites, ensuring consistent implementation and alignment with group standards.
  • Co lead key group HR projects, including HR systems, culture programmes, governance enhancements, and organisation wide transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement the divisional HR strategy aligned to business priorities.
  • Provide strategic advisory support to the CEO, divisional EXCO, and senior leaders on people, culture, organisational effectiveness, and commercial alignment.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed HR team across multiple brands and regions.
  • Build a high performing HR function that delivers consistent, high quality support to business units.

Talent & Workforce Management

  • Oversee end to end talent management, including acquisition, development, succession, and retention.
  • Implement robust performance management and leadership development frameworks.
  • Champion diversity, transformation, and internal mobility initiatives.

Employee, Community & Industrial Relations

  • Maintain a healthy ER climate across multiple geographies, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and internal policy frameworks.
  • Guide leaders on ER matters, investigations, hearings, and community or union engagements where applicable.
  • Strengthen proactive ER/IR practices to support organisational stability.

Organisational Development & Culture

  • Drive culture building initiatives that unite employees across brands, sites, and regions, reinforcing shared identity and purpose.
  • Strengthen employee engagement and leadership capability.
  • Support organisational design, structural evolution, and optimisation projects.
Qualifications & Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA/MBL) advantageous.

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years' progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in HR leadership.
  • Proven experience in complex, multi brand or multinational environments.
  • Strong expertise across talent, ER, OD, reward, and HR operations.
  • Experience leading teams across countries.
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder influence capability.
