Job Description
Title: District Officer Natural Hazards East Kimberley - responsible for managing resources to ensure effective operational capability and support, based on comprehensive emergency management principles.
Primary responsibilities include supporting the Region's Business Plan, contributing to strategic management of the Region, implementing planned initiatives, developing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders, driving continuous improvement, ensuring optimal service delivery, providing effective leadership, administration management, and training to volunteers.

Responsibilities- Manage resources to ensure operational capability and support.
- Support the Region's Business Plan and implement initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic management of the Region.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure optimum service delivery.
- Provide leadership, administration management, and training to volunteers.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned to Leading Others.
- Accredited Level 1 Incident Controller or endorsed DFES Level 1 Incident Controller in hazards relevant to Natural Hazards and technical rescue.
- C Class (Manual) driver's licence.
- All employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
- Regular weekends and evenings are required; 300 hours per annum (annualised hours conditions apply).
- May be required to reside in Kununurra.
- May be required to be on call as part of the regional duty roster.

- Fixed term appointment may precede permanent status with the requirement to complete the District Officer Development Program within 24 months.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency.
- Must provide a National Police Certificate less than 3 months old prior to commencement.
