Job PurposeThis position reports to the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA). The incumbent is expected to assume overall line responsibility and accountability as Director, Student Life and Residential Services (SL&RS) in the Division of Student Affairs.
As Director the incumbent is expected to assume overall line responsibility and accountability as head of Student Life and Residential Service towards advancing the Department's strategic direction and achievement of objectives; and to espouse the Department's values of kindness, accountability, passion, responsiveness, and good governance. He/she ensures that the department responds to the student life, residential service needs of students in a holistic manner, through ensuring Leaving, Learning and Listening communities (LLcs) to enhance learning and supportive environment beyond classroom.
This includes holistic development wellness dimension and First Year Residence Experience where students will be integrated to academic, social and residence life to enhance student success. Similarly, the department led by the director simultaneously, should hone leadership qualities so that these interventions both individually and collectively will positively impact on student development, throughput, and life experiences in residence and on campus.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Masters' degree in Behavioural and Social Sciences or in a related field
- 6 to 8 years working experience in Higher Education; 3 years in a senior management position preferably in student affairs
