Job Description

Hire Resolve's client, a civil construction company based in Cape Town, is looking to hire a Diesel Mechanic to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Diagnose Equipment: Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Repair and Maintain Machinery: Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
  • Routine Servicing: Carry out scheduled maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, and inspections.
  • Overhaul Components: Dismantle, assess, and rebuild engines, gearboxes, differentials, and hydraulic pumps as needed.
  • Troubleshoot Faults in the Field: Respond to breakdowns on construction sites and carry out urgent repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Operate Tools and Equipment: Use hoists, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic devices safely and efficiently.
  • Keep Maintenance Records: Document all work performed, parts used, and time taken using logbooks or software systems.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Comply with OHSA standards and company safety procedures when working on-site or in the workshop.
