Key Role

The Graduate Engineer will be rapidly upskilled to perform a variety of civil engineering design activities including 3D modelling of engineering designs and associated preparation of preliminary through to wayleave and construction drawings for projects, establishing guidelines and procedures and managing workload distribution within the Design team. The incumbent must be familiar with Autodesk Suite of design software tools. The incumbent will need to rapidly upskill to software proficiency relating to Autodesk and Bentley products, BIM processes related to common deliverables and design automation. The opportunity exists for Midrand in Johannesburg

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design of Civil infrastructure using Civil3D (Roads, pipe networks, bulk earthworks etc.);
  • Support design of Civil infrastructure using various Bentley products (Roads, pipe networks, bulk earthworks etc.).
  • Interfacing with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Provide technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close out
  • Carry out investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates on project designs
  • Be detail oriented with strong skills in municipal Infrastructure and roads
  • Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills

Qualifications
  • Minimum of BEng. / BSc (Civil Engineering) or BTech/ Beng Tech (Civil Engineering)
  • 0-3 years' experience in civil engineering.
  • Must be registered with ECSA as Candidate Engineer/ Technologist.
  • Knowledge of the relevant standards, regulations and legislation in engineering
