Introduction

To be accountable for the co-ordination of operational activities within a multi-disciplined environment, assuming full responsibility for all operations.

To ensure the effective management and control of the full function pertaining to stock making sure that orders are processed within specified turnaround times

  • To drive adherence to compliance to all relevant SOP's, legislation and company policies in order to minimise risk to the business
  • To be accountable for productivity management, including capacity management, order processing cycle time, manning utilization and unplanned downtime.
  • To compile daily reports on performance and order status in order to track progress
  • To manage the departmental budget and associated costs in line with specified targets and operational requirements.
  • To ensure the control and resolution of order disputes/claims which arise internally and externally and ensure speedy, competent resolution.
  • To ensure effective management of staff to drive efficiency and competence through performance management, training and development and recruitment to ensure quality outputs

To manage the successful execution of stock counts and cycle counts within respective area

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable: National Diploma in Operations Management; B. Tech Degree in Logistics Management or the equivalent qualification

Job Experience
  • Essential: 5 Years' experience within Operations, including stock management, Health and Safety, productivity measures
  • Essential: 5 Years Warehouse Management experience, including SOP implementation, staff management, reporting, analysis, supplier/customer dealings, risk assessment, productivity improvements, cost improvements
  • Essential: Good technical warehouse experience, including stock flow
  • Essential: 2 Years Warehouse Automation, including induction, technical fault finding
Skills, Abilities and Job Related Knowledge
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analysing of operational statistics
  • Persuading and influencing others
  • Computer literacy (Minimum Intermediary level Excel and PowerPoint skills)
  • Continuous process improvement
Job Knowledge
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures (receiving, pack away, replenishment and checking and packing)
  • Knowledge of KNAPP Induction system (or similar warehouse automation)
  • Business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership techniques, co-ordination of people and resource
  • Product Knowledge (hazardous, scheduled etc)
  • Special handling of stock (HFD - Habit forming drugs, Cytotoxic)
  • Standard operating procedures (SOP's for Pharmaceutical Wholesale)
  • Knapp and OSR (WHS automation) reporting system
  • Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations

  • Planning and Organising
