Job DescriptionKendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented Debtors Clerk for a luxury lodge based in Hazyview. This role is suited to a finance professional who is highly organised, accurate, and able to manage debtor accounts efficiently while supporting the financial operations of the property.
Role OverviewThe Debtors Clerk will be responsible for managing and maintaining debtor accounts, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and accurate record keeping. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team and operational departments to ensure all accounts are reconciled and payments are received within agreed terms.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage the full debtor's function
- Prepare and issue invoices accurately and on time
- Monitor debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding payments
- Reconcile debtor accounts and investigate any discrepancies
- Allocate payments received to the correct accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Communicate with clients regarding account queries and payment follow-ups
- Prepare debtor reports for management when required
- Assist with month-end procedures and financial reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of debtor and accounts receivable processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working with accounting systems
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills for client and internal liaison
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Debtors Clerk or accounts receivable role
- Previous experience within hospitality or lodge environments advantageous
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Professional and reliable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
