Job Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of the position is to provide strategic and operational leadership within the Division and oversee initiatives that contribute to a holistic student experience. The incumbent will advance student wellness, strengthen leadership development and foster an engaged, vibrant student life, while ensuring the cultivation of excellent graduate attributes and student throughput.

Key Performance Areas
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Student Affairs Division aligned with the strategic objectives of the University.
  • Establish and maintain vibrant extracurricular programmes and activities that enhance student life.
  • Design and manage systems and processes that support all aspects of student life - housing, mobility, access, sports and healthcare.
  • Build and strengthen national and international partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
  • Establish an effective student governance system.
  • Establish and maintain an effective student leadership system.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor staff within the division.
  • Ensure sound financial management and adherence to best practices for operational efficiency of systems, policies, processes and procedures.
  • At least 10-15 years' relevant experience in student affairs, with a minimum of five years in a senior managerial role, preferably within Higher Education.

  • The ability to function effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Personal Attributes
  • Ability to work with senior management and other relevant stakeholders in the institution to provide insights and advise.
  • Ability to deal with student learning anxiety and stress.
