Main Purpose of Job

To manage the operations in the Centralised Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and ensure that adequate, functional and sterile medical devices are provided to the operating rooms and other departments in the hospital.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Oversee the day-to-day processes of the department
  • Manage the resources in the department
  • To identify, address and report departmental risks
Required Education

Level 2 Hospital: Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Operating Department Assistance

Required Experience

Level 2 Hospital: 1-Year in a Theatre Environment

Required Job Skills and Knowledge
  • Infection prevention and control protocols
  • Reprocessing cycle of reusable medical devices
  • Knowledge of Medico-legal risks
  • Stock control principles and practices
  • Inventory management
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and accreditation standards
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office)
