Job Description
As a Crane operator at Sarens, you will operate powerful cranes and are a vital link in fascinating heavy lifting projects. With the utmost precision and agility, you'll hoist loads from point A to point B in a hands on, outdoor role that offers variety in tasks, working hours and locations.
Crane Experience- Lattice Boom and Telescopic Cranes: Liebherr LG1750, LG1800, LG1550, LR1600, LR11000; Demag TC/CC2800, CC3800, CC6800; Grove LTM1250, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1650; AC200, 250, 500, 700; GMK5200, 6300.
- Motivate and ensure crew work safely according to Sarens' SHEQ standards.
- Promote safety, quality and environment compliance and lean continuous improvement.
- Conduct site visits and complete a Work Planning Inspection regularly.
- Ensure all activities comply with Sarens' SHEQ standards, policies, instructions and local legislation.
- Verify all required documentation (planning instruction, certificates, lifting plans, load charts) before work and ensure crew understand them.
- Study transport routes and sites to confirm they are obstacle free and accessible.
- Check local weather conditions prior to operation.
- Load, unload, assemble, configure and dismantle crane components.
- Operate and control the crane independently in any configuration as per manufacturer instructions; operate auxiliary equipment such as tele handler.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational condition, including refuelling.
- Inspect crane and equipment for damage before, during and after operations.
- Perform daily, first line and preventive maintenance.
- Report damage and irregularities.
- Complete Maintenance Checklists and Work Record Sheets, obtaining client signatures when required.
- Provide feedback to line or functional manager on work and potential additional tasks.
- Carry out all tasks and training in compliance with Sarens' standards, company and client policies.
- Minimum of 5 years experience operating the listed cranes.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and hydraulics.
- English communication skills at level B2.
- Valid driver's licence.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certificate from an approved provider is an added advantage.
- VCA safety certificate is an added advantage.
