Reporting to: Management Accountant and New Business Development Executive
Location: Capricorn Business Park, Tea Plant
The Cost Accounting team is eager to grow their team. They are in search of a dynamic individual, interested in gaining practical experience in all areas of the manufacturing environment, with a drive to be actively involved in identifying, helping implement and monitoring of improvement projects focused on profitability and efficiencies whilst ensuring strong controls are in place.
This role is based at Cape Herb and Spice's Tea Division, in Capricorn Park.
Purpose of the RoleTo represent the Tea division within a team of Cost Accountants dedicated to the Spice division. Reporting to the General Manager of the division, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on all costs associated with the Tea business which is a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate costings, efficient and on time submission of the usual month end requirements, inventory controls, driving efficiencies and improvements and supporting Operational and Financial decision making in the form of preparing reports and presentations.
Key Responsibilities- Costing & Analysis: Across all business department functions (covering Imports and Exports) including complex calcs.
- Inventory & Production Accounting: Ensure effective management and accuracy (using Translution software system integrated with SYSPRO), Stock counts, Variances, Adjustments, Waste, Processes and Improvements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual setting for Purchasing, Operations and Selling as well as reviewing accuracy thereof.
- Reporting & Monitoring: KPI tracking and reporting, Submission of information for business presentations. Translution User support and Championing.
- Process Improvement: In all aspects of the business, help identify and support and/or drive initiatives agreed.
- Compliance & Controls: Providing Finance teams accurate and on time information relating to month end procedures and protocols. Government required reports (audited usage against Indigenous permits). Review SOP documentation ensuring accuracy.
- BCOM Accounting/CIMA
- 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing costing
- ERP system exposure (non negotiable)
- Strong engagement with operations
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Interest in systems and analytics tools such as Power BI advantageous
- Strong analytical and numerical ability
- Attention to detail driven
- Good communicator (internal as well as external)
- Works well within a team and able to take the lead where necessary
- Self motivator
- Deadline driven
- Great Work ethic
