Job Description

Position Title: Corporate Accounting Supervisor

Job Type: Remote (Cape Town & Johannesburg, South Africa)

Timing: US Time Zone (EST)

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for executing month-end close activities in close partnership with the Corporate Accounting team while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness across accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including approval of journal entries, preparation and maintenance of account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management, as required.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting VP, Director, and Manager to develop and implement process improvements aimed at streamlining close schedules and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Support inventory automation initiatives by working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve accounting workflows and controls.
  • Assist external auditors by preparing documentation, schedules, and responses to audit requests.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-6 years of accounting experience, with some exposure to public accounting (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting experience or a combination of 3-4 years across public accounting and industry roles.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or other ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
