Job Description Although our production and financial results are the engine that drives our business, it is the depth of capability in our people that will continue to determine First Quantum's ongoing success. Reporting to the Logistics Operations Lead, the Coordinator will support the export of copper cathode and copper blister from Africa by managing end to end shipping logistics. This role will ensure efficient booking, documentation, vessel coordination, and communication with shipping lines, warehouses, internal teams, and the London trading office. The position is critical to ensuring that contractual requirements, shipping timelines, and compliance obligations are met with high accuracy and strong service delivery. Key Responsibilities: The Logistics Operations Coordinator's general accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the below:Freight Booking & Coordination Liaise with FQM Trading in the UK regarding freight booking requirements for the export of copper from Africa. Calculate accurate shipping weights to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Secure container space with carriers and place bookings online. Email booking confirmations and packing instructions to designated warehouses ahead of vessel stack dates. Ensure correct freight rates and freetime are applied at the time of booking. Confirm equipment availability with shipping lines for packing.Export & Documentation Management Ensure bank releases are received, correct, and ready for export processing. Oversee the packing process to ensure containers are filled with the correct allocation and copper grade. Submit draft Bills of Lading (B/L) and VGM; obtain final draft approvals from the London office and confirm with carriers. Confirm vessel sailing and issued "Shipped on Board" status. Ensure all required documentation and payments are submitted to shipping lines to allow printing/collection of original Bills of Lading. Print/collect original B/Ls and handle endorsements when required. Obtain vessel certificates, warehouse receipts, arrival notifications, and all documents required to fulfil contractual obligations. Arrange courier delivery of original B/Ls as needed. Submit copies of original B/Ls to customs for acquittal purposes.Tracking & Reporting Conduct daily monitoring of vessel movements and arrivals at port; update internal tracking reports. Update stack and engagement dates for all shipments. Maintain accurate updates in internal systems at all times.Carrier & Warehouse Coordination Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines to ensure timely and efficient service. Coordinate daily with warehouses across Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) and Namibia (Walvis Bay) to support packing and dispatch activities.Financial & Administrative Tasks Ensure shipping line invoices are received on time and sent to the correct financing bank for prompt payment. Update rate sheets regularly. Support general office administration and provide additional assistance to FQM Trading SA as needed. About the Operation Copper cathode and blister are produced in Zambia. The Transport division arranges road or rail transport into selected warehouses for packing. The Shipping team allocates specific grades to shipments and manages the export process. Current packing operations span four warehouses across Africa, including Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) and Namibia (Walvis Bay). Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field. Minimum 3 years' experience in container export shipping. Commodity export experience is an advantage. Existing relationships with multiple shipping carriers beneficial. Skills Required Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and organisational capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong problem solving ability and capability to handle queries efficiently.
