Job Description

Job Purpose: The Consumables Clerk is responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement, control, and management of consumable items to support operational requirements. This role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely ordering and payment, and supporting cost effective purchasing practices. The incumbent plays a key role in stock control, reconciliation, and maintaining up to date Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy, availability of consumables, and minimal operational disruption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process consumables ordering in line with operational requirements
  • Maintain accurate consumables inventory and ensure proper stock control
  • Oversee supplier management, including ensuring suppliers are paid timeously
  • Identify and implement cost saving opportunities related to consumables
  • Conduct monthly stock takes and reconcile variances
  • Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy
Minimum Qualifications
  • Higher Certificate or Diploma in Commerce or a related field
  • Matric (Grade 12)
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preferably D365)
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and supplier coordination skill
