About the Role

this is an 8 month contract to end of Project. As the Construction Supervisor - Electrical, you will manage and oversee all electrical construction activities related to the project's electrical reticulation network, substation, and Eskom switching station. You will act as a central point of coordination between the Balance of Plant (BOP) Contractor, the Owner's Engineer, Eskom, and internal EDF stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, high quality, and on schedule delivery of the electrical scope.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environment
  • Support and enforce the project HSE plan on site.
  • Act as OHS Act 8.2 appointee when required.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with environmental management plans (EMPrs).
Electrical Construction Management
  • Oversee discipline-specific construction in line with project scope.
  • Manage BOP and grid works contractors (Electrical).
  • Coordinate with the Owner's Engineer on electrical design implementation.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Attend weekly contractor meetings and validate information for minutes.
  • Liaise with landowners, local authorities, community stakeholders, and Eskom.
Document & Quality Management
  • Review method statements, DSTIs, AFC documents, and as built deliverables.
  • Ensure correct logging of electrical documentation on EDMS.
  • Support quality processes, NCRs, and witness Site Acceptance Tests.
Commercial & Reporting
  • Support progress measurement and project milestone documentation.
  • Review contractor payment documentation.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports.
Planning & Execution
  • Monitor construction schedule milestones and critical interfaces.
  • Support commissioning, grid connection, grid code testing, and COD activities.
  • Assist in handover activities across contractors and project phases.
Qualifications & Experience Required Must Have
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction (BSc / BTech or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience as an Electrical Site Engineer or Electrical Construction Supervisor.
  • At least 4 years' experience on utility scale renewable energy or large electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Must have had prior experience in construction of substations - in particular final stages and commissioning.

  • Exposure to multi project execution environments.
