Construction Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilledConstruction Managerto join a leading team delivering professional services across the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. This role will be focusing on leading and managing all on-site construction activities for mining infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in accordance with engineering designs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This position will be based in theNorthern Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the execution of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction works.
• Develop and manage construction schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Lead daily site operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to scope and specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
• Liaise with project managers, consultants, and client representatives.
• Facilitate site meetings and resolve construction-related issues.
• Ensure timely reporting of progress, risks, and deviations.
• Ensure compliance with theMine Health and Safety Act,OHSA, and other relevant legislation.
• Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in mining or heavy industrial projects.
• Experience with tailings dams, beneficiation plants, haul roads, and bulk earthworks is advantageous.
• Legally appointed as Construction Manager under MHSA (preferred).
