Code 10 Driver: Disinfecting - Farm Services, Grain Field Chickens, Reitz

Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (PTY) Ltd, is a dynamic role player in the integrated broiler industry with an abattoir in Reitz in the North Eastern Free State. To drive to various farms on a daily basis and perform disinfecting in various broiler houses according to standard operating procedures. Will be on the road 80% - 90% of the time and expected to travel alone and perform the disinfecting of the chicken houses, independently.

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
• Code10 licence with PDP.
• Technical background will be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of the layout of chicken houses.
• A clear criminal record.
• Will engage with GFC Contract Growers on the farms, therefore the ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans is essential.
• Good client interaction skills with both internal and external customers.
• A willingness to work overtime, incl. Saturdays & Sundays.

• Travel to various farms on a daily basis to perform disinfecting of the chicken houses.
• Disinfection of chicken broiler houses on a daily basis in accordance with disinfection Standard Operating Procedures.
• Disinfecting will be performed after the house is fully washed.
• Will be required to disinfect the vehicle and shower onsite.
• Completion of required documentation including the disinfecting checklist.
• Preparation of the disinfecting liquid by mixing of the approved chemical at the appropriate dilution into the tank.
• Taking of swabs after disinfecting each chicken house.
• Required to follow the manufacturer's instruction when using the disinfecting unit.
• Ensure the house is prepared (such as the switching on of the fan) before disinfecting.
• Follow laid down Standard Operating Procedures when performing the disinfecting from start to finish.
• Responsible for securing the chicken house after disinfecting to restrict unauthorized access.
