Cleaner

Applications are invited for the Cleaner position to be based in Stellenbosch.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Cleaners perform a wide range of duties to keep a business tidy. They are also responsible for performing routine inspections to ensure that common areas, like restrooms, are sanitary.

• Responsible for all basic cleaning in office buildings.
• Cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, waxing floors, spot cleaning glass and windows and vacuuming.
• Cleaning and disinfecting of restrooms, door handles and surfaces.
• Refilling supplies, such as toilet paper and paper towels.
• Cleaning spills, broken glass and other messes up as quickly as possible.
• Performing maintenance activities related to cleaning such as ensuring bathrooms are sanitary.
• Report on low cleaning supplies as needed.

• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Must be proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Follow and comprehend work tasks.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Demonstrate an understanding of standard cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Must be physically capable of performing 8 hours of physical work each day.
• Possess a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

• No qualification necessary (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification advantageous).
