Job Description

HEB Construction's Civil team based in Queenstown is looking for a hardworking and reliable Heavy Civil Drainage Labourer to support our drainage and civil crews across the region.

This is a hands on role working on major infrastructure projects, including 3 waters, subdivisions, roading, and heavy civil earthworks. If you enjoy physical work, want to build your skills, and are keen to be part of a high performing team, this is the opportunity for you.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assisting with installation of stormwater, wastewater, and water supply pipelines
  • Supporting excavation, trenching, shoring, and pipe laying operations
  • Backfilling, compaction, and site reinstatement work
  • Operating small tools and supporting machinery/plant operators
  • Spotting for machine operators and maintaining safe exclusion zones
  • General labouring duties around active heavy civil construction sites
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and well organised work area
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in civil drainage or heavy civil construction (preferred, but training available for the right person)
  • Ability to work safely around machinery and trenches
  • Good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good communication skills
  • Full driver's licence (Class 1 required; WTR an advantage)
  • Ability to pass pre employment checks (drug/alcohol etc.)
