Chief Operating Officer: Internal Audit

Build and sustain a high performing Internal Audit organisation , with clear role clarity, accountability and performance expectations. Oversee workforce planning, succession management and talent pipelines for critical Internal Audit roles. Drive capability development aligned to future assurance needs (e.g. digital, data, analytics, conduct, compliance, technology risk). Foster a strong performance culture grounded in professionalism, ethical conduct and continuous learning. Extensive experience in Internal Audit, Risk, Assurance or related governance roles within a complex financial services environment. Proven executive level experience leading large, multi disciplinary teams. Strong operating model design, execution and transformation capability. Deep understanding of Internal Audit standards, governance and regulatory expectations. Demonstrated financial management and budget ownership experience. Professional qualification (e.g. CA(SA), CIA, CISA or equivalent). Experience with audit technology, data analytics or digital transformation.
