Overview

This is an ideal position for a Chemical Engineer searching for an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and rapidly growing Agtech and Input company. The Chemical Process Engineer position is a permanent position based in Wellington, Western Cape. This position will form part of the Process Engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with process technology development on bench, pilot, semi-commercial and commercial scales
  • Optimise, and improve chemical, physical and biochemical processes to meet production goals and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
  • Conduct process simulations and modelling to evaluate process performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Troubleshoot process issues and develop effective solutions to minimise downtime and ensure optimal production
  • Provide support in all phases of production, including end-product support
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
  • Assist in the quality control process
  • Provide technical support to various organisational departments and operations
  • Assist in Product issues in the field and develop POKE YOKE's to prevent reoccurrence of the issues
  • Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree (MEng/MSc Eng) in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a PhD in Chemical Engineering
  • Recent postgraduate or up to 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience
  • Experience in the agricultural input, food processing, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries would be advantageous
  • Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
  • High proficiency in standard business and engineering software tools
